This year most of my photography friends and I have been on a quest for sunflowers. Many of the early plantings were washed away with all the spring rains that we had. But I’ve managed to find a few patches here and there on the Illinois side of the river from St. Louis. This beauty is from a fairly large field just east of Alhambra.

Apple Picking

My wife wanted some apples and instead of fighting the crowds at Eckert’s we went to Mills Apple Farm just northeast of Marine. It is a great place and they have tons of apples to pick! Easy to get to and the people are really friendly, as is Molly the German Shepard.

A day out taking photos

Seems like all I’ve been photographing lately are the STL250 birthday cakes so I decided to get up early and do some sunrise shots. There has been some great fog all week long when I’ve driven to work but of course this morning when I have the time to do some shots nothing. But I did manage to get a decent shot with the sun just showing through the break in the clouds. After that it was off to the flea market in Belleville and the Oktoberfest celebration after that.
