The Mississippi River was near its crest at St. Louis and it’s that time of year when the sun sets through the Arch. With the water as high as it is I was able to get this shot of the Arch just after the sun went down. What is unusual is that I was able to get a full reflection because the water is so high. Normally you can only get a little bit of it.
I was hoping for a few clouds and a bit more colour but it’s one of the few days of the year when I can get this shot down the rails here in Troy. Hard to believe it is December 23rd and it was in the upper 60s today. Guess I have to enjoy it while I can.
It is that time of year in the St. Louis area where the sun sets through the Arch. A few photographer friends and I went down to the Malcom Martin Memorial Park in East St. Louis to get some shots. Was really hoping to have some clouds and a nice pink sky but it cleared up. Regardless it is really nice to see the sun set through it. There is no other skyline like St. Louis has with the Arch.
