It is that time of year in the St. Louis area where the sun sets through the Arch. A few photographer friends and I went down to the Malcom Martin Memorial Park in East St. Louis to get some shots. Was really hoping to have some clouds and a nice pink sky but it cleared up. Regardless it is really nice to see the sun set through it. There is no other skyline like St. Louis has with the Arch.
Playing around with zooming and long exposure.
My wife wanted some apples and instead of fighting the crowds at Eckert’s we went to Mills Apple Farm just northeast of Marine. It is a great place and they have tons of apples to pick! Easy to get to and the people are really friendly, as is Molly the German Shepard.
There was a beautiful sunrise this morning as I was heading to work. I really missed the peak color but was able to finally get pulled over where I could get a decent shot. It was still colorful and it turned out to be a good day all the way around.

Seems like all I’ve been photographing lately are the STL250 birthday cakes so I decided to get up early and do some sunrise shots. There has been some great fog all week long when I’ve driven to work but of course this morning when I have the time to do some shots nothing. But I did manage to get a decent shot with the sun just showing through the break in the clouds. After that it was off to the flea market in Belleville and the Oktoberfest celebration after that. Here is the sunrise shot and links to some flea market photos.

During a quick stop at the St. Louis Art Museum yesterday I noticed these half circles on one of the walls. I’m not sure if it was an exhibit or just part of the decor but I liked the look.
