The incredible ceiling inside the Ethical Society of St. Louis. I couldn’t stop staring at it.
Taking a walk at lunch around Scott Air Force Base I got a chance to take a picture of the Luftbrücke. It is a sculpture commemorating the Berlin Airlift. There is a companion piece to this, which is located at the former Rhein Main Air Base in Frankfurt Germany, where I was also stationed in the mid-90s. It is a testament to the men and women who kept the supplies flowing to the city of West Berlin during the blockade. If you are ever on the base stop and get the chance stop to take a look.
Last weekend I was out with Photo Flood STL in the Penrose neighbourhood in St. Louis. It was snowing quite good and just as we were wrapping up things we ended up at an old school that is closed up. This tricycle was sitting outside and I had to get down low to get the shot I wanted.
We got some snow overnight so Monday morning I got out to do some shooting. Winter is truly here in the St. Louis region with the temps only in the single digits. I saw this leaf lying in the pristine snow and had to take a photo. Decided I wanted to convert it to black and white.
As we were taking down the ornaments this bulb fell and broke. A fitting end to the year that had lots of ups and downs. As it is now 2018 I suspect it will be more of the same.
Burning bushes and blue skies.
